hi Robyn! thanks for your msg. i have talked to and heard from a lot of teachers who’ve used My Travelin’ Eye in their classrooms, but i’ve never actually received any from them. you did give me the idea though to write a post asking for teachers to share how they’ve used it…and see what comes up. so check back soon! also, a teacher who leads a gradeschool student book review group is (i think) going to review it in the new school year. if they do, the teacher also writes lesson plans and shares them on her blog. if she does, i’ll be sure to post it! also, thanks about my new book! it is all finished, and is slotted for release in 2011. lucky for my patience, i am busy chasing my daughter around and writing new stories — so hopefully the wait will go fast!

hi Donna! (Kiersten’s mom!) first off, you have the coolest daughter. we are so lucky she helped our daughter come into the world! and now i’m excited to be on the birth center’s board, so i can support them.

i’m so happy you introduced yourself and Kiddle CRITters / Teacher’s Pets! I just read your latest review, the students’ conversation on “Baby, Baby, Blah Blah Blah” (i’m so curious to hear what they’d say about my book), AND your lesson plans (a great addition!) i’ll share your review site with my sister’s school — i know they’ll love it. And YES! i’ll send a request to HH today to send you a book; either way, i’ll make sure you get a copy. I would be honored if you choose to review my book! I think you may know my daughter, Kiersten. I found your blog as I was reading hers. I enjoyed reading many of your entries. I saw your book, My Travelin’ Eye. I love the concept.

I am a book reviewer. I work with a team of 12 elementary-aged children to review picture books. We usually review only recent titles, (current year) but I would be interested in presenting your book to the KIDDLE ÇRITers for their possible review. Drawn to you through the DOME LINK, My 22 foot dome is going up overlooking the fossil beds in colorado this spring, so cool to feel your inspiration and love as yours was built and sprouted!! I definitely want your books and archival cards in the dome and on display at my farm stand for all eyes and souls. Thank YOU. I’ll let you know where to send them and their love.

There is a new international school here in Tiruvannamalai, plus several orphanages that I am sure would appreciate your book! I love to think of children in India reading it.

Jenny, if you still have one, it might not be a bad idea to send one to Iowa. i can take it to either the public library here in Dubuque, or to the multicultural center(where kids play and learn, or to one of the elementary schools, or to one of the hospitals, if they happen to have a library.

OR, to the Iowa children’s hospital. We have an annual fundraiser event for the children at this hospital. It’s called Dance marathon and we dance for 12 hrs straight without sitting. each dancers are asked to raise 150 or more dollars and the event itself draws money from sponsers and other participants. So we can send a book for these kids.

Let me know what you think. Just thought it would be nice to let the Iowans enjoy reading your story.
