No fear.

August 6, 2008

Patrick was in California last week and called one day to ask what he could bring me. As in, a present? I asked. Yeah, he replied. Wow, you’re sweet, but I can’t think of anything. Hmm, maybe a picture of the ocean..? Well, he came home last night with about 40 pictures he took for me of the kids’ art at Anneliese’s School in Laguna Beach. He knows me so well. Nothing lights my ol’ inspiration flame like kid art. They have NO fear. At the right age and the most nourishing guidance, they plunge into their hearts and minds and express themselves so purely and perfectly. I just LOVE these. And I would really love to observe how they teach the kids because ‘teaching’ art is an art. You can see more on the Anneliese’s School’s Website.

I totally agree with you about children drawings… I admire my daughter’s drawings : they are so inventive, amazingly composed with such a sense of freshness, freedom, innocence!

Oh and I went to see the school site… this school seems such a respectful and precious place for children. I think this is so important for them to learn things in such places :)
