Charley Harper “in a box”.

Patrick got me the coolest present EVER. I mean, ever-EVER: Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life. He thought it would be fun inspiration for my kid’s book. My reaction: Heck yeah! I’m drooling. I got goosebumps all over. We’re talking over 400 pages of Charley Harper’s illustrated world in full color–and oversized, 12 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches. It’s massive and amazing, each illustration surprising, rich and so incredibly designed. I’m not even sure what to do with myself, except try to soak it up. Wow, I would have loved to have studied with him!

AND — I just finished the first painting for my book and have a couple more underway! YAY! I finally lept off the high-dive and am flying…

Oh man that book is glorious!! I use to go to the library and look at it all the time(we couldn’t check it out.) Also congrats on your 5 year anniversary, its so good to see happy couples!
