winter wings.

February 8, 2009

It’s funny — usually winters stur up travelin’ desires in me. I get itchy and look for ways to get out of my nest and into a warmer adventure of sorts. But of course this winter is different. It’s insanely sunny, almost constantly, and it’s warm enough to go for long walks every day. Plus, and a huge plus at that, this growing baby is simply warming me to my core. It’s an amazing journey having a little soul who is merged with your every thought, dream, movement…and all from the inside. 8 more weeks!

I love that picture! It’s got a eerie quality to it. The birds remind me of the funny vultures on junglebook- like they are up to something…planning and scheming. Hope you are well! The little one is coming soon!

Is that a print? It has such a great texture to it. They look like they might be friendly but I’m not sure.

It’s an interesting contrast between this dark background and those nice birds.

Eight more weeks!!! How exciting! Love the monoprint. I’ve been meaning to ask, how do you sketch onto the inked plate? If you lay your paper over the top of the plate, how do you keep the paper from pulling some of the ink off??? I think I am doing it wrong…
