adobe day! (as in, “mud” play…)

May 29, 2011

Springtime always wakes me up in the best way. I feel so alive communing with dirt and chickens and our garden! On a typical day, Tulsi is laying in dirt playing within 5 minutes of getting out of bed snuggles. Makes sense that one of her first words was “dirt”. Do you remember making mud [...]

October 10, 2008

I wanted to say thanks for ALL the sweet comments and emails from the last post. Yesterday I felt the little one swimmin’ for the first time! What an amazing sensation. And this morning we celebrated 5-years since we said ‘I do!’ with a walk in the aspens… Have a beautiful weekend everyone.

Bhandara and harvest time.

September 15, 2008

Hi friends! I hope all is well with you. It’s been awhile since I posted. Been taking a hiatus from the ol’ computer and internet to focus on my book and art and garden. The weather is ultra perfect here, too. I love Fall. This weekend was the big Bhandara festival at the temple. 108 [...]

August 22, 2008

I hope you all had a beautiful week. I’m back from ‘up top’ and feel so alive and full and strong. A little exhausted and sore, too, but even that is good sensation! Ah, to refill the soul with mountain air! What a gift. Nine days, nine women, and boundless energy and positiveness. Booming and [...]

August 2, 2008

Just wanted to share a few moments (& patterns) from my hike today! Ah, pine needle floors, whispering waters, fuzzywuzzy rocks and pinkledgeshrooms. Does it get much better? And this was carved into an aspen: L U Z V E R D A D Knowing way too little Spanish I thought it meant green light, [...]

If I was stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing to eat or drink, it’d be milk. But not processed, homongenized milk from a hundred cows mixed up together and infused with antibiotics or hormones. I’m talkin’ about REAL milk. Have you ever had it? Fresh from a cow (or goat, [...]

June 2, 2008

Gosh! It seems like everything has come alive in the last few weeks–both in the garden and in our community. So many gatherings with friends, hikes, picnics, campfires. It’s so beautiful and feels so good! Yesterday morning, I moved my yoga practice outside, and had a really nice sunrise session with two friends on a [...]

May 15, 2008

10 days away from home, and one can get a little bit disoriented. At least for me, 10 days away from the mountains makes me dizzy. I had an awesome trip, [...]

walkabout.

March 25, 2008

Patrick whisked me away from the house/studio on friday to spend a whole weekend in town. It felt great to be “on foot”. Oso’s nose led the way. We walked everywhere. In tall pines, down ‘county roads’, ’round the center of town and thru the awesome architectural ‘door’ place. The textures and colors were treasures. [...]

March 4, 2008

Sorry to exclude my brothers out there. This is for sisters only. Maybe next time. I know y’all are itchin’ for summer time and sleeping under the stars and breathing some fresh mountain air. Well, at least I am. I’m dreaming of doing yoga barefoot in an open meadow, sitting in prayer in front of [...]
